Refund policy

Clear refund terms, so there is no doubt when you pay.

Last updated 29 June 2026

In short

We want every family and school to register with confidence. This policy explains when you can get a refund for the World Tech Olympiad, written plainly so there is no doubt at the point of payment.

14-day cooling-off period

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided the participant has not yet started a scored edition (practice does not count). This applies to the Season Pass and to single-attempt purchases.

After an edition has started

Once a participant begins a scored edition, that edition is considered delivered and is non-refundable. If a Season Pass still has whole future editions unused, we may offer a pro-rata refund for those unused editions at our discretion.

Technical issues

If a technical fault on our side prevents a participant from completing an edition, contact us. We will first try to let them re-sit the edition; where that is not possible, we will refund the affected edition in full.

What is not refundable

  • Editions already started or completed (outside a technical fault on our side).
  • Requests made after the relevant edition window has closed.
  • Purchases where the fair-play rules were breached and results were voided.

How to request a refund

Email us from the address on your account with your order reference and the reason for the request. We aim to acknowledge within 2 business days and to process approved refunds within 5–10 business days, back to your original payment method.

Currency and fees

Refunds are issued in the original currency of purchase. Any difference you see is usually due to exchange-rate movement or bank fees outside our control.

Subscriptions and auto-renewal

Subscriptions such as the Season Pass renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time from your account; cancellation stops future renewals but does not, by itself, refund the current term, which remains governed by the rules above. School licences and partner arrangements are subject to their own separately stated refund and credit terms.

Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first so we can resolve it quickly. Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us may result in suspension of the affected account pending resolution. We reserve the right to contest chargebacks we believe are made in error or in breach of these terms.

Discretion and limits

Any refund, credit, or transfer offered beyond your non-waivable statutory rights is provided at our reasonable discretion and does not create an entitlement to the same in future. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and except for rights that cannot be waived, our maximum responsibility in connection with any payment or a participant's inability to complete an edition is a refund of the amount actually paid for the affected edition or service. This policy is part of, and is subject to, our Terms of Use, including their limitation of liability.
