The global benchmark for student technology aptitude
The World Tech Olympiad gives students in Classes 2 to 12 a fair, global stage to discover and prove their talent in technology - and a credential the world can trust.
It is organized by the Global Tech Council and operated by Tosh Labs Private Limited.
Our vision
To become the world's largest and most respected technology olympiad for school students, and the global benchmark for future-ready technology aptitude.
Our mission
To help students measure, improve, and showcase their technology skills from an early age through a fair, globally recognized, and continuously evolving competition.

Why we exist
Turning curiosity into a credential the world trusts
Technology is the literacy of this generation, yet there has never been a fair, global way to measure and celebrate it in school students. WTO was built to change that - to turn curiosity into demonstrated skill, and skill into a credential trusted by parents, schools, and the wider world.
- A fair, global stage open to students in Classes 2 to 12
- A transparent skill rating with a published method - no black box
- Verifiable certificates and privacy-safe rankings
- Child-safety and parental consent built into every journey

What makes WTO different
The combination no single competitor holds at once.
The breadth of future skills
AI, coding, cybersecurity, robotics, and computational thinking in one olympiad - not a single narrow subject.
A persistent skill rating
A fair, published rating - like a chess Elo for technology - that aggregates across editions and makes WTO a benchmark, not a one-off.
A pathway, not a one-off
Every result feeds a learning path into an established council ecosystem, so progress continues long after the exam.
Child-safe and credible
Verifiable parental consent, privacy by design, and a rigorously verified championship that protects the prestige of the rank.
Built for every age
Three grade-appropriate tracks, rising in challenge as students grow.
Foundation
Classes 2-4- Digital literacy
- Internet safety
- Logic & computational thinking
- Basic AI awareness

Explorer
Classes 5-8- Coding concepts
- AI fundamentals
- Robotics concepts
- Cyber awareness & data thinking

Innovator
Classes 9-12- Artificial intelligence & ML
- Python programming
- Cybersecurity
- Data science & emerging tech

Recognition that lasts
Every participant is recognised - the word “failed” is never used.
All certificates are verifiable digital credentials, portfolio-ready, and checkable by anyone.
Part of a bigger ecosystem
WTO is part of a group that has operated four established certification councils since 2016 - the Global Tech Council, Intellect Council, Blockchain Council, and Universal Business Council - reaching over a million learners across 145+ countries. The olympiad is the start of a journey students can continue for years.
About WTO, in brief
The questions people ask about who we are and how we work.
Who runs the World Tech Olympiad?
WTO is organized by the Global Tech Council, the subject and assessment authority, and operated by Tosh Labs Private Limited. Both sit within a group that has run four certification councils since 2016, reaching over a million learners across 145+ countries.
Is WTO a credible, independent benchmark?
Yes. It is built to be a benchmark, not a one-off test: a persistent, chess-Elo-style skill rating with a published method, verifiable certificates checkable by ID, and a rigorously verified World Championship that protects the prestige of the rank.
What ages can take part?
Students in Classes 2 to 12, across three grade-based tracks: Foundation (2 to 4), Explorer (5 to 8), and Innovator (9 to 12). A child's grade maps to the right track automatically.
Is it safe and privacy-conscious?
Child-safety is a first principle. A child never registers alone, there are no ads and no profiling, data is minimised and never sold, and public visibility is always opt-in. See our trust and child-safety page for the full picture.
