How WTO and the councils fit together.
Do we have to join a council to take part in WTO?
No. The olympiad stands on its own - you register, take part, and earn a rating and certificate without joining anything else. The councils are an optional pathway for students who want to keep learning afterwards.
Is WTO independent, or just a sales channel for the councils?
WTO is run as a credible, semi-independent benchmark. Recognition is earned against calibrated difficulty and cannot be bought, and the council relationship is an endorsement and a pathway, never a requirement to do well.
